Gender Alliance for Development Center is well-known in Albania and the region, thanks to numerous events implemented through the years, including: analysis, monitoring, and assessment of policies and strategies; training programs; the existence of a pool of trainers at the national level; conferences organized at the regional level, as well as publications in the area of gender and development.

The work of Gender Alliance for Development Center’s staff is based on a very specific methodology, which makes work results continuously measurable. Every project is monitored and evaluated on the basis of specific indicators. Thus, work is carried out with the highest and most professional standards possible. Through its work, the staff intends to achieve effectiveness and efficiency, by using a methodology that assesses the needs and interests of beneficiaries, thus leading to professional interventions.

Considering that Gender Alliance for Development Center has increased its capacities, particularly those related to human resources, one of the results has been the continued provision of assistance to other organizations and institutions in Albania. A series of organizations, especially those working in the area of women’s rights, received assistance for building their capacities.

During the past years, Gender Alliance for Development Center has become the best center for conducting gender trainings in Albania. The same conclusion is valid for the collection and dissemination of publications on gender, women, and social problems in Albania, as well as for realizing publications and manuals that have been distributed to the broad public.

Raising awareness, advocacy, and lobbying are other objectives established by the Center as an important part of its contribution to the civil society. Advocacy and lobbying aim at improving gender balance in decision - making, employment, and reactions toward discrimination of women or the violation of their rights. The Center’s work and activities intend to bring about positive change and empowerment.

The Gender Alliance for Development Center is among the few organizations in Albania working in the area of gender mainstreaming, drafting manuals, strategies, and programs on how gender can be mainstreamed into various areas.

Last but not least, the Gender Alliance for Development Center, on 30.06.2005, was licensed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs as a resource center on gender issues. This fact highlights once again the credibility, effectiveness and efficaciousness of the work of Gender Alliance for Development Center staff. Fulfilling and perfecting contemporary standards and respect for existing Albanian legislation is another factor that has influenced and influences the strengthening of relations with Albanian state authorities, donors, collaborators, and beneficiaries of the services we offer.
